Since their inception in 2000, Los Angeles' Fractional has strived to provide their audience with a familiar yet original sound. Fractional has spent the past three years releasing records on their own label and touring extensively in support. Their sizeable grass roots following continues to grow because, as bassist Nate Perry said, "We don't want our audience to feel so isolated from our music that they can't understand it, yet we want to provide them with something they've never heard before." Although their sound is derived from their predecessors', Fractional's aggressive, upbeat, melodic songs are clearly all their own.
Dean Markley Blue Steel strings help Fractional achieve their progressive, melodic, post-hardcore sound.
Nate Perry uses Blue Steel Bass XM gauge, while Douglas Gledhill plays his Blue Steel Electrics JZ.
