Under the guise of Alternative Rock, some bands pool their negative energy, to emit spiteful songs that resonate with crashing guitars and growling, pain-soaked vocal lines. Depression and frustration are the emotions of the hour
and the music scene. Jacksonville, Floridas Cold, chose to cultivate a sound emoting raw feeling rather than pure pain.
Im happy with the darkness, says frontman Scoot Ward. Ive had a negative outlook for so long. And the way I see stuff has always been bleak, so Ive learned to make that good. I just like to write songs that express how I feel. We like Tool and Black Sabbath, but we also love Radiohead and Sarah McLachlan. I was really into the Cure and Depeche Mode when I was growing up, and Sam was really into Kiss and Sabbath. Our stuff is just a mixture of all the things we like.
With influences like this how can cold choose anything less than our cryogenically frozen Nickel Plated Blue Steel Signature Series strings.
Cold uses Blue Steel Electric, jazz gauge and Blue Steel Bass, various gauges.
