What can be saidhe has been known as Mr. Fender Bass... The name speaks for itself. Chuck helped establish the electric bass as a prominent instrument in the contemporary music world. There are not many bassist who are copied, who have played on classic hits, and whos style is so recognizable as is Chucks. The list of credits for Chuck is endless, from the classics What a Wonderful World with Louis Armstrong to Spanish Harlem with Aretha Franklin. You can look even further to the incredible sound of the Steely Dan albums, Pretzel Logic, Gaucho, Royal Scam and Aja. Take your pick from even more such as Michael Jackson, Qunicy Jones, Rickie Lee Jones, Bette Midler, Ringo Starr, Barbara Streisand, Ray Charles, Jackson Browne, Sergio Mendes, Marvin Gaye, The Pointer Sisters, Smokey Robinson, Lena Horne, and Joe Cocker to name just a few. There just are not many people in the world who have not heard his work. Chuck has truly been instrumental in the progress of what role a bassist plays in todays music.
Chuck relies exclusively on both Dean Markley Super Round Bass and SR2000 4 and 5 string sets in Light and Medium-Light guages to make his much copied sound possible.
