Since forming in middle school in York, PA, Live has become an international success. The band came of age with the release of their debut album, Mental Jewelry (1991). They broke world-wide with the follow-up, Throwing Copper (1994), a multi-platinum No. 1 smash, which spawned the hits I Alone, All Over You, Selling the Drama and Lightning Crashes.
Secret Samadhi (1997), propelled by the hit single Lakinis Juice, became Lives second successive No. 1 album on the Billboard album charts. The Distance To Here (1999) delivered the Top 3 radio single The Dolphins Cry, and another platinum album. V (2001) followed with the hit single Overcome, which was embraced by America following the 9/11 attacks. Birds of Pray (2003) provided the smash hit Heaven, which reached No. 2 at radio. After the career-spanning Awake: The Best of Live (2004), the band delivered their seventh studio effort, Songs From Black Mountain(2006). Live just released their first Live CD and DVD Live At The ParadisoAmsterdam on November 11th, 2008, recorded on June 30th and July 1st, 2008.
The song Forever (one of two new studio tracks on the set) is charging up the AAA and Hot AC radio panels in early 2009 and looks to be another smash in the making.
